BRAHMO SAMAJ MANDIR
This is a Unique construction, symbolising all religions and all faiths. Built by the late Maharajah of Pitahpuram in the 1920s after getting influenced by the philosophy of Raja Ram Mohan Roy a great social reformer of those times. It serves as Brahmo Upasan Mandir and held many All India Conferences of Brahmos. It is gift of the late Rajah to the Brahmos. The late Maharajah’s second wife’s progeny contested that it was not a gift but a family property. This Chapter filed a PIL and won the case at the lower court and as well as the High Court. Recently, due to the efforts of the member of the State Chapter who is also the wife of the late Rajah’s first wife’s grandson, could get this Monument declared as a Protected Monument, thereby putting an end to the four decade old legal battle. This indeed is a great achievement for the Chapter.
